Seminyak Travel Guide

Situated on the beautiful island of Bali, Seminyak is a pleasant seaside town. Although somewhat sleepy, this is a good place to explore for an hour or two.

Worth It?
Seminyak's close proximity to the airport makes it a good place to pause for a while to explore the area.
What to Do
swimming, sunbathing, visiting the local temple.
Best Time to Go
during the dry season between May and September.
How Long?
A day or less is enough time to see the sights of Seminyak

Those who like to soak up the sun on the beach might find Seminyak's main stretch of sand rather disappointing. Rather than the powdery golden sand visitors to the south of Bali are treated to, here the beach consists of black volcanic sand which, while striking, doesn't exactly fit the picture of a tropical island shoreline.

Accommodation in Seminyak tends to be rather expensive so it is perhaps better to visit the seaside town from either Kuta or Legian. Both towns are just a short bus ride away from Seminyak and have plenty of reasonably priced places to spend the night at as well as interesting attractions.

Travel to Seminyak - Getting There

By far the easiest way to get to Seminyak is to fly into Ngurah Rai International airport, which is less than an hour's drive away and serves regional cities. Catch a bus to Seminyak from the large bus stop near the airport or take a taxi. There is a regular bus service to Seminyak from towns and cities such as Legian (20 minutes) and Kuta (20 minutes).
