Yangjae Citizen's Forest Park

Yangjae Citizen’s Forest is a municipal urban woodland and park in southern Seoul that provides walking paths, green space and recreational areas for local residents.

The park comprises planted groves, shaded trails and open lawns used for jogging, picnics and informal sports; it is valued as an accessible green space within a dense urban area. Seasonal display of blossoms in spring and foliage in autumn are local highlights.

The site was developed by Seoul city authorities to increase urban green space and offers easily walkable routes and family-friendly facilities rather than extensive wilderness terrain.

Located in the Yangjae area of southern Seoul, the park is served by local transit and is a short trip from nearby neighborhood centers.

• Best seasons: Spring and autumn are the most popular times for visitors thanks to flowering trees and fall foliage, which make paths and picnic areas especially attractive.

Take the Seoul Subway Shinbundang Line (Shinbundang) to Yangjae Citizen’s Forest Station; from the station it’s an easy 5-10 minute walk to the park entrance. The park runs along Yangjae-daero and is also served by local city buses that stop on Yangjae-daero, or you can take a short taxi from nearby Yangjae Station (Seoul Subway Line 3).

• Aim for early morning on weekdays to enjoy quieter trails and jogger traffic; weekends and late afternoons get busy with families and cyclists from Seoul.
• Use Yangjae Citizen's Forest Station (Shinbundang Line) or the nearby bus stops for the most direct access; the park's main northern gates are closest to the station and save a long walk across roads.
• Don't miss the ginkgo-lined avenue in autumn - late October to early November brings strong fall color that many only notice if they time the visit for peak foliage, and check the small park noticeboards for occasional local events or exhibitions.
