Waldstadion Stadium

Waldstadion (officially known in recent years by sponsored names) is a major sports stadium on the southern edge of Frankfurt am Main, Hesse. It is the principal home ground of Eintracht Frankfurt and hosts football matches, corporate events and concerts.

Originally opened in the 1920s as a city sports venue, the stadium underwent major renovations in the 2000s to modernize the bowl, seating and facilities and to meet contemporary safety and comfort standards. Current seating capacity is around 51,000 for league matches depending on configuration.

The arena combines a fan bowl, VIP and corporate areas, and event spaces beneath the stands, and is located adjacent to Frankfurt’s Stadtwald (city forest). It is well connected to the city by public transport on matchdays.

Waldstadion (the major stadium in Hesse near Frankfurt, also known as Deutsche Bank Park) is reachable from central Frankfurt by S‑Bahn and regional services to the Stadion/Niederrad area and by local tram or bus links that serve the stadium on match days. The arena is signposted from the A66/A5 motorways and has designated event parking.

From Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof take the S‑Bahn or local public transport toward the Stadion/Niederrad stops and follow pedestrian routes from the stop to the stadium; tram/bus connections and special event services are commonly provided.

• Use the S‑Bahn Stadion stop to reach Waldstadion (Deutsche Bank Park) quickly on event days-public transport is consistently faster than trying to drive and park.
• Book tickets and any stadium tours ahead of time; match-day security and controlled fan zones mean walk-up access can be restricted and queues build up early.
• If visiting outside match days, combine a stadium tour with a walk around the surrounding Frankfurt greenbelt-many visitors only see the stadium itself and miss nearby parks and riverfront paths.
