How to Get to Visby

Visby is easiest to reach by direct flight to Visby Airport (VBY) from Stockholm or by ferry from mainland ports (Nynäshamn, Oskarshamn). Once on Gotland, Länstrafiken buses, bikes and walking are the main ways to get around.

By Air

Visby Airport (VBY): Visby Airport is 3-5 km from the town centre. Länstrafiken buses run between the airport and Visby (about 10-15 minutes); a single adult ticket is around 30-40 SEK. Taxis take roughly 10-15 minutes and usually cost about 100-150 SEK.

Stockholm Arlanda (ARN): Many visitors connect from Stockholm (Arlanda) with frequent flights to Visby (flight time ~30-45 minutes). Alternatively you can travel from Stockholm city to Nynäshamn/Oskarshamn by rail and ferry - rail + ferry journeys take several hours and combined fares typically range from 250-600 SEK depending on service and season.

By Train & Bus
