Velence is easiest reached via Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport (BUD); regional trains from Budapest and Székesfehérvár stop at Velence station. For seasonal or private flights you may also see arrivals at Hévíz-Balaton (Sármellék), but services there are limited.

From BUD take the airport bus 100E (to Deák Ferenc tér) then a MÁV regional train from Budapest (Déli or Nyugati stations) to Velence; total journey time is typically about 1-1.5 hours depending on connections. Expect around 900 HUF for the 100E airport bus plus a regional train ticket from Budapest to Velence in the ~700-1,200 HUF range (prices vary by train type).
Sármellék / Hévíz-Balaton Airport (SOB): This airport has limited and seasonal services; if you arrive here you will generally transfer by taxi or prearranged shuttle to Székesfehérvár or Kaposvár and then take a train/bus to Velence.
