Desierto de Atacama/Copiapó Airport (CPO): Copiapó’s airport is the nearest with commercial flights for visitors heading to Vallenar. From Copiapó you can take an intercity bus or rent a car for the roughly 1.5-2.5 hour drive to Vallenar; bus fares typically range from CLP 6,000-15,000 depending on operator and service.
La Serena Airport (LSQ): La Serena is another regional airport; travel from La Serena to Vallenar is longer by road and usually handled by intercity buses with longer journey times and comparable fares.
