Valaam is an archipelago in Lake Ladoga in the Republic of Karelia, Russia, centred on a historic Russian Orthodox monastery and monastic community. The islands combine religious heritage with wooded, rocky landscapes and freshwater bays.

The main attraction is the Valaam Monastery complex on the largest island, composed of churches, living quarters and museum displays that reflect centuries of monastic life. Visitors also explore nature trails, small bays and island viewpoints during day trips.

Seasonal boat services and organized day tours run from St. Petersburg and from the Sortavala area (Republic of Karelia); some operators also run hydrofoils in summer.
