Tulsi Lake is a small freshwater reservoir in northern Mumbai, located within the Sanjay Gandhi National Park and adjacent to Vihar Lake. It is part of the city’s historical water-supply system and lies in a wooded, protected area.
The setting is wooded parkland with trails and viewpoints nearby; the lake and surrounding forest provide habitat for birds and small mammals and are visible from park paths. Direct public access to the lake shore is often restricted because it forms part of the water catchment.
The lake has been managed as part of Mumbai’s municipal water infrastructure and sits inside the boundaries of the national park, which limits development and preserves the surrounding green space.
Tulsi Lake is in northern Mumbai near the suburb of Borivali, inside Sanjay Gandhi National Park and close to Vihar Lake.
