Dadar is a densely built urban neighbourhood in Mumbai, Maharashtra, known as a long-established residential, commercial and transport hub in the city. It sits at the meeting of Mumbai’s Central and Western suburban rail corridors and is a focal point for local commerce.

The area contains several notable local attractions and amenities. Major public open space includes Shivaji Park, used for cricket practice, public meetings and recreation; the locality also hosts a large wholesale flower market and busy shopping streets. Two adjacent railway stations serve different suburban lines, making it a primary interchange for commuters.

The district developed as part of Mumbai’s expansion in the 19th and 20th centuries, evolving from residential plots and public works into a mixed commercial and civic centre. Over time public spaces and transport facilities established Dadar’s role as a city node.

Dadar is a major railway hub in Mumbai served by Western and Central Line local trains. It’s reachable by road (BEST buses, taxis, and ride-hailing) and is a short auto- or taxi-ride from South Mumbai landmarks.
