About Tremorgio Lake#
Lago di Tremorgio is an alpine lake in the canton of Ticino, Switzerland, located in the Leventina area at about 1,851 metres above sea level. It is a notable high-mountain lake in the southern Swiss Alps.
The lake is a compact mountain basin popular with hikers and day-trippers. It is served by a cable car from the village of Rodi and by marked footpaths that connect to surrounding trails and ridges.
The basin is a natural alpine lake that has long been used for summer recreation and mountain walking; facilities at the site are oriented to visitors rather than large-scale development. Over time access has been improved with the addition of the cable car and maintained trails.
Geographically the lake sits above the village of Rodi-Fiesso in Ticino, within the southern Swiss Alps. It occupies a high-mountain position with steep valley slopes around it and is part of the watershed of the Leventina valley.
