How to Get to Toluca

Mexico City - Benito Juárez International Airport (MEX): Many visitors fly into Mexico City (MEX) and continue to Toluca by road. From MEX, travellers usually take a taxi/Ride-hail or metro/Metrobús to the Observatorio bus terminal and catch an intercity coach to Toluca (see bus card). Expect the road transfer from central Mexico City to Toluca to take about 60-90 minutes by bus depending on traffic, with intercity fares in the range of MXN 80-140.
Train: There is no regular intercity passenger rail service to Toluca at present. Plans and projects for a Mexico City-Toluca interurban train have been discussed for years, but travellers should not rely on rail and should use buses or road transport instead.

- Local buses & combis (MXN 8-12) - Toluca's urban network is made up of full-size buses and numerous shared minibuses (combis) that cover the metropolitan area and suburbs.
