About Tokyo Disney Resort#
Tokyo Disney Resort is a large theme-park complex located in Urayasu, Chiba Prefecture, on the eastern edge of the Tokyo metropolitan area. The resort comprises two major theme parks, on-site hotels and a shopping and entertainment complex, and is one of the region’s primary family tourist destinations.
The resort’s two main parks are Tokyo Disneyland, a traditional Disney theme park that opened on 15 April 1983, and Tokyo DisneySea, a unique maritime-themed park that opened on 4 September 2001. Both parks contain multiple themed lands, attractions, restaurants and seasonal events that draw large daily visitor numbers.
In addition to the parks, the site includes Ikspiari - a shopping and dining complex - and several official Disney hotels and partner hotels that cluster around the resort gateways.
