How to Get to Tkon#
Tkon is on the island of Pašman and is reached by a short ferry crossing from Biograd na Moru. The nearest airport is Zadar (ZAD); from there take a bus/taxi to Biograd and the ferry to Tkon. Ferry schedules are seasonal, so plan connections ahead.
Zadar ZEMUNIK Airport (ZAD): The primary airport for Tkon (island of Pašman). From ZAD you can take a shuttle or bus to Biograd na Moru (approx. 30-50 minutes) and then the Jadrolinija ferry to Tkon; total transfer time is commonly 1.5-2.5 hours depending on connections.
Split Airport (SPU): An alternative if you find better connections; from Split you take a bus to Biograd or direct services to ferry ports and then the ferry to Tkon - journeys are longer and usually used when routing around the Dalmatian coast.
Train: There is no direct train to the islands; rail travel stops on the mainland (Zadar/Split) and must be followed by bus and ferry.
Bus & Ferry: The usual route is bus from the airport or major city (Zadar/Split/Biograd) to Biograd na Moru or other mainland ferry ports, then a Jadrolinija commercial ferry to Tkon. Ferry crossings are short and seasonal timetables apply - check Jadrolinija for schedules and fares.
How to Get Around Tkon#
Tkon is accessed by flying to Zadar and then taking a bus/taxi to Biograd followed by a Jadrolinija ferry. For island travel a car+ferry or local buses work, but walking and cycling are ideal for moving around once you arrive.
- Plane to Zadar (ZAD) (~30-80 HRK (airport→Biograd, approx.)) - Zadar Airport is the closest airport; from the terminal use shuttle buses, local buses or taxis to reach Biograd na Moru, Pakoštane or other ferry ports serving Pašman. Travel time to Biograd is roughly 30-50 minutes by road.
- Bus to ferry ports (~25-70 HRK) - Regional buses from Zadar or Split to Biograd and other ports are the standard mainland link. From the bus station you transfer to the ferry terminal for Tkon; allow time for seasonal schedules.
- Ferry (Jadrolinija) (~20-60 HRK (approx., depends on season and vehicle) ) - Jadrolinija operates ferries to Tkon from Biograd (and other nearby routes in season). The crossing is short (often ~20-30 minutes) but timing is seasonal; check the operator’s website for current timetables and fares.
- Car / rental + ferry (€35-€80/day (rental) ) - Driving to the ferry port and taking your car across is common. On‑island roads are suitable for rental cars; book vehicle ferry slots in high season.
