How to Get to Tiree
Regular flights operate from Glasgow to Tiree (Loganair), and Caledonian MacBrayne runs a summer ferry from Oban (about 2-3 hours). The island is compact - a bicycle or rented car is useful for getting around.
Tips for Visiting Tiree
- Book flights early - Tiree has a short-runway service with Loganair that fills in summer.
- Hire a bike; the island is famously flat and cycling is the best way to cover the machair, white beaches and small communities.
- Bring a windproof layer even on sunny days - Tiree is famed for wind and excellent surfing conditions.
