How to Get to Ting Kok
Ting Kok is a village area in Tai Po District, New Territories, Hong Kong. The city's high-frequency MTR and bus networks make public transit a reliable choice; use the Airport Express + MTR or direct buses from the airport and finish with a local bus or short taxi into Ting Kok.
Hong Kong International Airport (HKG): The main international gateway. To reach Ting Kok (Tai Po District) from HKG, common options are Airport Express + MTR (see below) or direct airport bus plus local bus/taxi. Expect door‑to‑door travel times of about 50-90 minutes depending on connections.
Shenzhen Airports (SZX / Shekou ferry connections): Some travellers use Shenzhen Bao’an (SZX) and cross via land border into Hong Kong; that adds immigration time but can be an option depending on your incoming airline. Ground and public-transit connections then follow Hong Kong’s MTR/bus network to Tai Po.
Train: From Airport take the Airport Express to Tsing Yi or Kowloon then transfer to the MTR East Rail/Tuen Ma lines toward Tai Po Market / Tai Wo. MTR fares depend on origin and distance; the full journey from Airport Express interchange to Tai Po Market typically takes ~50-70 minutes (total including Airport Express leg).
Bus: Direct airport buses and cross-harbour routes serve parts of the New Territories; from the airport you can also take an airport bus to central Kowloon and then a KMB/New Lantao or local NT bus to Tai Po/Ting Kok. Local buses and minibuses serve the final mile; taxis are plentiful for final delivery.
How to Get Around Ting Kok #
Ting Kok is a semi-rural village in Tai Po District that’s straightforward to explore on foot along roads and trails. Public buses and green minibuses connect the village with Tai Po town and nearby MTR stations, and taxis/ride-hailing are available from the district. Many visitors combine walking or cycling with a short onward bus or MTR ride into Tai Po.
