How to Get to Nai Chung
Nai Chung (Sai Kung area) has no direct rail link - most travellers use Hong Kong International Airport plus the MTR to a nearby hub then a bus or green minibus into Nai Chung. Taxis are direct but more expensive; local minibuses and buses are the common everyday option.
Hong Kong International Airport (HKG): Hong Kong International is the primary airport for reaching Nai Chung in the Sha Tin / Sai Kung area. From the airport the fastest public route is Airport Express to Hong Kong or Kowloon, then MTR and a bus or green minibus to Sai Kung/Nai Chung; total journey time is typically 50-90 minutes depending on connections. Taxis from the airport are direct and take about 35-50 minutes to Sai Kung/Nai Chung but are considerably more expensive.
Shenzhen / Guangzhou airports (SZX / CAN): Some visitors arrive via nearby Mainland Chinese airports and cross via land borders into Hong Kong; travel times and routes vary and require border crossing arrangements.
Train (MTR): There is no MTR station at Nai Chung itself. The usual rail approach is to take the MTR to either Wu Kai Sha / Tai Po / Sha Tin and then change to a bus or minibus bound for Sai Kung/Nai Chung.
Bus / minibus: From Sai Kung town there are public light buses (green minibuses) and local buses that serve Nai Chung. The route from MTR stations (e.g., Hang Hau or Po Lam on the Tseung Kwan O line, or Sha Tin/Tai Po via connecting buses) takes about 20-40 minutes from those hubs; expect short, frequent minibus runs between Sai Kung town and Nai Chung.
