Tiddis

Tiddis is the archaeological remains of a Roman-era settlement in northeastern Algeria, noted for its visible ruins of houses, public buildings and funerary monuments. The site represents a Romanized North African town with material evidence from the imperial period into late antiquity.

Surviving elements include foundation walls, street levels, and funerary architecture that reflect urban organization and local adaptations of Roman building types. The assemblage provides evidence of civic life and burial practices in the region during Roman rule.

The town flourished under Roman administration and continued into late antiquity, with archaeological work documenting phases of occupation and reuse. Over centuries the site fell out of continuous habitation and survives as a ruin studied by historians and archaeologists.

Tiddis lies in Constantine Province, on a hillside overlooking the surrounding plains, and is commonly visited from the city of Constantine and nearby towns.
