Tichit is an isolated desert settlement in the Tagant region; there are no direct commercial flights or rail services. Travel is primarily overland by 4x4 from larger towns such as Tidjikja or by organized tour/expedition.

By Air

Nouakchott-Oumtounsy International Airport (NKC): Nouakchott is the main international gateway to Mauritania. There are no regular commercial flights directly to Tichit; from Nouakchott you must travel overland by 4x4 or arrange charter/overland transport toward Tidjikja and then Tichit. The overland leg is long (many hours to a full day) and requires careful planning.

Atar / Regional airstrips: There are small regional airstrips in Mauritania, but scheduled services are limited. For travel toward Tichit you should plan an overland expedition from the nearest major towns rather than expect a regular commercial flight.

By Train & Bus
