Taliabu Island is an island in Indonesia’s North Maluku province, part of the Sula Islands archipelago. It is a largely forested island with villages along the coast and significant areas of natural habitat.
The island is noted for its relative remoteness and for supporting a range of island ecosystems and local livelihoods based on fishing and small-scale agriculture. Access is by sea and by limited air links via nearby regional airports.
Taliabu sits north of the eastern part of Sulawesi and west of the Maluku islands, within the chain of islands that lie between Sulawesi and Halmahera.
