Sybaris refers to the archaeological area near Sibari on Calabria’s Ionian coast; the nearest major airport is Lamezia Terme (SUF) and the nearest rail access is Sibari station. Regional trains plus a short taxi or local bus are the standard public-transport approach to the ruins.
Lamezia Terme Airport (SUF): Lamezia is the main international airport serving Calabria. From SUF you can take a regional train or bus toward Sibari/Sibari station area; combined travel to the Sybaris/Sibari zone typically takes 2-3 hours depending on connections and operator.
Crotone Airport (CRV): Crotone is closer to parts of the Ionian coast; flights are seasonal and services limited. From CRV you’ll usually continue by road to reach the Sybaris archaeological area (short taxi or bus ride).
Train: Sibari railway station (Stazione di Sibari) lies on the Ionian (Jonica) line and is the nearest rail access point for the archaeological site of Sybaris.
