St Nicholas Church, Mavrovo Church

St Nicholas Church in Mavrovo is a 19th-century Orthodox church now partially submerged in the reservoir within Mavrovo National Park, North Macedonia.

The bell tower and upper portions of the building are visible above the lake surface, and the church is widely photographed for its partly submerged appearance; it can be reached by boat when water levels are high and by foot when the water is low.

The church was built in the 19th century and became submerged after the construction of the Mavrovo reservoir in the mid-20th century, when the valley was flooded to create the lake.

It lies within Mavrovo Lake in Mavrovo i Rostuše Municipality, inside Mavrovo National Park and is accessible from the nearby village and park roads.
