How to Get to St. Michiel

St. Michiel (Sint Michiel) on Curaçao is reached through Curaçao International Airport (Hato, CUR) with short road transfers into the Willemstad area. There's no rail network on the island; buses and shared minibuses are cheap but taxis or a rental car are recommended for convenience.

By Air

Curaçao International Airport (Hato) (CUR): Hato (CUR) is the island’s main airport, about 10-20 minutes’ drive from Willemstad and nearby neighbourhoods such as Sint Michiel. Taxis from CUR to the Willemstad area and Sint Michiel generally take 15-25 minutes; expect fares in the range of ANG 25-40 depending on destination and luggage. Car rental desks are available at the terminal.

By Train & Bus

Train: Curaçao has no passenger rail service.

Bus / Local transport: Public buses and collective minibuses (often called ‘public buses’ or route-based minibusses) serve Willemstad and nearby districts. Fares on local buses are low (a few Netherlands Antillean guilders) and trips from downtown Willemstad to Sint Michiel typically take 10-20 minutes. Taxis are faster and more predictable if you’re on a schedule.
