Sbeitla City
Ancient Roman ruins and archaeological site
Sbeitla’s claim is its Roman ruins: three well-preserved temples around a forum, mosaics underfoot, and olive groves on the hills — archaeologists and history-minded travellers linger to trace late-antique urban layouts.
Why Visit Sbeitla?#
Known for the remarkable Roman ruins of Sufetula, Sbeitla draws history lovers to its forum, three standing temples and still-visible triumphal arch. Olive groves and small-town markets frame a countryside where Tunisian hospitality, strong olive oil and hearty couscous dishes reflect local life. Visitors come to absorb layers of antiquity and rural culture without the crowds found at coastal sites.
