How to Get to Savannah Bight#
Savannah Bight is on Roatán in the Bay Islands; the simplest access is by flying directly to Roatán (RTB) or by taking a ferry from La Ceiba. Once on the island, taxis and local buses provide the most reliable connections to villages.
Juan Manuel Gálvez International Airport, Roatán (RTB): RTB on Roatán is the closest commercial airport to many Bay Islands communities. From Roatán airport you can take a taxi to towns on the island (20-50 minutes depending on location; fares roughly US$10-US$30) and then use local buses or taxis to reach smaller settlements like Savannah Bight.
Golosón International Airport, La Ceiba (LCE): La Ceiba on the mainland is the main ferry gateway to the Bay Islands. From La Ceiba you can take ferries to Roatán or Utila (ferry times about 1.5-3 hours; fares commonly US$15-US$30) and then taxi or bus on the island to Savannah Bight if your route lands on Roatán.
Train: Honduras does not offer intercity passenger rail services.
Bus & Ferry: To reach the Bay Islands from the mainland, take an intercity bus to La Ceiba (from San Pedro Sula ~3-4 hours, fares vary) then a ferry to Roatán/Utila. On Roatán, local bus/taxi services connect ferry ports and the airport to villages such as Savannah Bight; expect short taxi rides (US$5-US$25).
