San Gennaro extra Moenia is a church and early-Christian burial complex located in Naples, Campania, situated outside the ancient city walls - the name literally means ‘Saint Januarius outside the walls’. The site is notable for its early Christian catacombs and associated funerary architecture.

Substantial underground catacombs and fragments of early mosaic and funerary chapels that date to late antiquity. The above-ground basilica structures reflect multiple construction and restoration phases across the medieval and later periods.

The complex originated as a burial and commemorative site associated with the cult of Saint Januarius and developed into a basilica complex over time.
