Salina, Sicily

Salina is one of the Aeolian Islands off the north coast of Sicily in Italy, known for its volcanic terrain, fertile slopes and small fishing villages. The island is part of the Aeolian archipelago and is valued for agriculture, wine production and scenic coastline.

The twin volcanic peaks and green interior terraces, small harbors and beaches, and villages such as Santa Marina Salina, Malfa and Leni where local food and wine are focal points. The island has coastal walking paths and short mountain trails that provide views across the archipelago.

Geographically Salina sits in the Tyrrhenian Sea as part of the Aeolian chain north of Sicily, with volcanic ridges and sheltered bays. Ferries connect it to nearby Aeolian islands and Sicily, and the terrain is dominated by low volcanic mountains and cultivated terraces.
