Rum Near Waterfall Travel Guide

Especially popular with hikers, Rum Near Waterfall is a popular side attraction from a visit to Sen Monorum in Mondulkiri Province. It is just a few miles from this popular provincial town and you can walk right to it without needing to use any public transport.

The falls are low and wide and are attractive in both the wet and dry seasons. They are naturally more impressive in the wet when they swell to around 35 feet wide and plunge around 16 feet. They are higher and narrower in the dry season. You can swim here at any time as there is a pool at the base of the falls and the river flows smoothly past shady trees.

In addition to the Rum Near Waterfall are a slew of coffee, mango, cashew, avocado and rubber plantations, making the walk even more enjoyable. To get there, simply follow the red soil track from Sen Monorum (signposted) for around three or four hours. Alternatively, you could drive out there, or take a tuk-tuk, and be there in about 30 minutes.
