How to Get to Ráckeve
Ráckeve lies south of Budapest on the Csepel island area and is best reached from Budapest by suburban HÉV rail (H6) or by regional bus. Arrivals from abroad should plan a transfer through Budapest Ferenc Liszt Airport and the city's public‑transport network to reach Ráckeve.
Budapest Ferenc Liszt (BUD): Budapest’s international airport is the main gateway for Ráckeve. From BUD take bus 200E to Kőbánya-Kispest (M3) then metro + tram or the direct 100E express to the city centre and switch to the HÉV suburban rail (H6) at Boráros tér or end stations; total journey time is about 1-1.5 hours to central Budapest and around 50-70 minutes from central Budapest to Ráckeve. Airport transfers (100E single ticket ~900 HUF; regular BKK single tickets ~350 HUF) plus HÉV fare apply.
Szeged / regional airports (no regular international service for most visitors): There are smaller regional airports but most international travellers use Budapest and continue by rail or road to Ráckeve.
Train / HÉV: Ráckeve is served by the suburban HÉV line (H6) from Boráros tér in Budapest; the HÉV is the most direct public‑transport link from the city. The HÉV journey from Boráros tér to Ráckeve takes roughly 40-55 minutes; single BKK tickets (or passes) are required - check BKK for current fares and ticketing rules.
