District 5 is in central Ho Chi Minh City (Chinatown) and is best accessed via Tan Son Nhat Airport by taxi or Grab. Inside the district, walking, motorbike taxis and local buses are the most practical ways to get around.

By Air

Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN): District 5 (Chinatown) is centrally located and a short ride from Tan Son Nhat. Taxis or ride‑hails from the airport to District 5 typically take 25-45 minutes depending on traffic; expect fares around 150,000-250,000 VND.

Other regional airports: Domestic airports in the Mekong Delta or central Vietnam require lengthy transfers to Ho Chi Minh City and are not useful for direct access to District 5.

By Train & Bus

Train: Ga Sài Gòn (Saigon Railway Station) is the city’s main rail station in District 3, a short taxi ride from District 5. Long‑distance trains arrive there from cities across Vietnam; onward taxis or Grab will get you into District 5 in 10-20 minutes.
