How to Get to Qalqilya

Qalqilya is accessed overland rather than by air; Ben Gurion (TLV) or Amman (AMM) are the main international gateways but reaching Qalqilya requires navigating West Bank crossing points and local transport. Local buses and shared taxis are the primary public options.

By Air

Ben Gurion Airport (TLV): For international travellers to Qalqilya the closest major international airport is Ben Gurion (Tel Aviv). From there overland travel to the West Bank requires planning around checkpoints and possible transit through Israeli or Palestinian transport links; expect around 45-90 minutes to reach Qalqilya by car depending on route and border formalities.

Queen Alia International Airport (AMM): Amman is another international option if entering via Jordan and crossing at the Allenby/King Hussein Bridge; onward travel to Qalqilya will involve border crossing procedures and additional overland travel in the West Bank.

By Train & Bus

Train: There is no direct passenger rail service into Qalqilya; Israel’s and the Palestinian territories’ rail networks are separate and limited for cross-border passenger use.

Bus / Shared taxi (service): Qalqilya is served by Palestinian buses and shared taxis (service) from nearby Palestinian cities and towns (Nablus, Tulkarm) as well as by local taxis. Routes and crossing arrangements depend on your point of entry into the West Bank; check current travel and crossing rules before you go.
