Tel Aviv University is a major public research university in the Tel Aviv District of Israel, established in the 1950s. The university is a principal centre for higher education and research in Israel and houses numerous faculties and institutes.

The main campus is in the Ramat Aviv neighbourhood on the city’s northern edge, with academic buildings, libraries and student services arranged across a sizable urban campus. The location offers proximity to the Mediterranean and to Tel Aviv’s urban amenities.

Tel Aviv University is in north Tel Aviv and has its own Israel Railways station (“Tel Aviv University” station) - the station is a short walk (about 5-10 minutes) to the main campus. Numerous local buses (Dan and other operators) also stop at the university’s campus bus stops.

By car the campus is roughly 7-8 km north of central Tel Aviv; typical driving routes use the Ayalon Highway (Road 20) and Namir Road, with a drive time of roughly 15-25 minutes depending on traffic.

• Use public transport rather than campus parking: the university is well served by multiple bus lines and a rail/commuter stop named for the campus, making access from central Tel Aviv straightforward; this also avoids limited on-site parking.
