How to Get to Pujilí#
Pujilí (Cotopaxi Province) is best reached by road from Quito (UIO). Regular interprovincial buses and short taxi hops from Latacunga make the route straightforward and low cost.
Mariscal Sucre International Airport (UIO): Pujilí is most commonly reached via Quito’s Mariscal Sucre Airport. From Quito take an interprovincial bus from Carcelén or Quitumbe toward Latacunga/Pujilí; the trip to Pujilí takes about 1.5-2 hours and fares are usually USD 1-3.
Latacunga (shorter road distance): Latacunga is the nearest larger town by road-buses and taxis from Latacunga provide short onward transfers to Pujilí.
Train: Ecuador does not have a regular national passenger rail network for Pujilí; occasional tourist trains run elsewhere but are not useful for routine travel here.
Bus: Regular buses run Quito→Latacunga→Pujilí; they are frequent and cheap. From Latacunga local buses and taxis cover the short last leg to Pujilí in 15-30 minutes.

- Local bus / colectivo (USD 0.25-1) - Local buses and colectivos link Latacunga with Pujilí and surrounding communities. They’re very cheap and run frequently during the day.
- Taxi (USD 1-8) - Local taxis are handy for quick point‑to‑point travel and for transfers from bus terminals to your accommodation. Negotiate or ensure the meter is used where present.
- Car hire (variable) - Renting a car gives you flexibility to explore Cotopaxi and nearby attractions; mountain driving requires care, especially in wet conditions.
