Preah Khan of Kompong Svay is a large, remote Khmer temple complex in eastern Cambodia that dates primarily to the 11th and 12th centuries. The complex covers an extensive area and was constructed in laterite and sandstone, reflecting both Hindu and later Buddhist use.
The site includes multiple enclosures, ruined towers and laterite galleries and is notable for its size and relatively low level of modern restoration compared with central Angkor sites. Visitors encounter wide, open ruins, large moats and evidence of ancillary structures that speak to its function as a regional administrative and religious center in the Angkorian period.

- Age and scale: One of the largest and most remote Angkorian temple complexes, mainly dating to the 11th-12th centuries and showing both Hindu and Buddhist phases of use.
- Condition and visitor experience: Lower levels and many structures remain unrestored and the site is often visited for its vast enclosures and quieter, less-restored atmosphere compared with Angkor proper.
