Popova Šapka is a mountain resort in the Šar Mountains of northwestern North Macedonia, located near the town of Tetovo and serving as one of the country’s primary ski areas.
The resort comprises a cluster of marked ski runs, lift-served terrain and a small built-up resort village with accommodation and winter services; in summer the area is used for hiking and mountain access. Elevation differences and lift infrastructure support novice to intermediate winter skiing.
The site developed as a recreational ski area during the Yugoslav period and has been modernized intermittently since, remaining a regional center for winter sports and mountain tourism.
It sits in the Šar Mountain range above the Tetovo valley in northwestern North Macedonia, with road access from Tetovo and the surrounding municipalities.
