Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport (BUD): Budapest is the main international airport serving Polgárdi. From BUD travel by train to Székesfehérvár or directly toward Polgárdi on regional lines; total travel time from the airport to Polgárdi is typically 1-1.5 hours including transfers. A taxi from Budapest is faster but more expensive.
Balaton Airport / Sármellék alternatives: Regional and seasonal flights to airports near Lake Balaton are limited; Budapest remains the practical arrival point for most international travellers.
Train: Polgárdi has a railway station (Polgárdi) on the Budapest-Székesfehérvár-Balaton line; regional and intercity trains stop here, making rail the easiest way to reach the town from Budapest or Székesfehérvár. Journey times from Budapest-Kelenföld or Budapest Keleti are about 50-80 minutes depending on train type.
