Parque nacional Volcán Mombacho is a national park centered on the Mombacho volcano near Granada, Nicaragua, notable for its forested slopes and panoramic views. The volcanic peak rises well above the surrounding plains and Lake Nicaragua.
A series of maintained trails lead through cloud forest and up to viewpoints around the volcanic crater, offering close views of crater rims and extensive panoramas over Lake Nicaragua and the city of Granada. Guided nature walks emphasize the area’s plant communities and birdlife.
The area has been protected to conserve the volcano’s forested ecosystems and to provide managed access for visitors. Over time trail infrastructure and visitor facilities have been added to support tourism and education.
Mombacho sits just inland from the city of Granada on the western shore of Lake Nicaragua, within short driving distance of the city and its lakeshore towns.
