Paasselkä

Paasselkä is a lake in eastern Finland occupying a circular basin formed by a meteorite impact. The lake is locally well known for its round outline and for persistent folklore about unusual lights seen over the water.

Shoreline access, boat use and forested surroundings are typical of Finnish lakeland in this area; the site is primarily visited for its unusual geology and for nature observation. Night-time reports of luminous phenomena are a recurring cultural feature associated with the lake.
