How to Get to Ouazzane
Ouazzane is most conveniently reached by road from Tangier or Fes; Tangier Ibn Battuta (TNG) and Fès-Saïs (FEZ) are the nearest airports with onward bus or grand taxi connections. There is no direct train into Ouazzane.
Tangier Ibn Battuta Airport (TNG): Tangier is the nearest larger international airport for northern Morocco. From Tangier you can take a CTM or local bus toward Ouazzane; the trip is commonly about 1.5-2 hours by bus, with fares often in the 30-70 MAD range depending on operator.
Fès-Saïs Airport (FEZ): Fes is another viable arrival point. Buses and grand taxis connect Fes with Ouazzane; travel time is around 2-3 hours and fares by CTM or private taxi vary but are comparable to Tangier routes (approx. 40-80 MAD).
Train: There is no direct passenger rail service to Ouazzane; the nearest major railway hubs are Tangier and Fes.
Bus / Grand Taxi: Ouazzane is well served by CTM and local bus companies as well as grand taxis (shared or private). CTM runs routes linking Tangier-Fes-Ouazzane with reliable schedules; expect 1.5-3 hours depending on origin and fares typically in the tens of Moroccan dirhams.
How to Get Around Ouazzane #
Ouazzane’s old town and medina areas are best explored on foot; many streets are narrow and pedestrian-friendly but can be steep. For longer trips you’ll find petit taxis for local runs and shared grand taxis or regional buses to cities such as Fès or Tanger. Taxi fares inside town are low (single-trip local fares commonly a few dozen Moroccan dirhams); for intercity travel, book from the bus station or grand-taxi stands and confirm the price beforehand.
