Osterley House is a large Georgian country house and park in the London Borough of Hounslow, west of central London, noted for interiors remodelled in the 18th century.

The house displays principal reception rooms and period interiors from its Georgian remodelling, together with exhibitions about the family who lived there. The surrounding park and gardens provide a substantial landscaped setting used for walks and outdoor activities.

The house was remodelled in the mid-18th century by architect Robert Adam for the Child family, wealthy bankers who owned the estate. Later the property passed into public care and today is managed and opened to the public as a preserved historic house and park.

Osterley sits in west London near Isleworth in the London Borough of Hounslow, a short distance from the M4 corridor and within the outer suburbs of the capital.

Osterley House sits within Osterley Park in west London. Take the Piccadilly line to Osterley station - the park’s main entrance is roughly a 10-15 minute walk (about 0.8-1 km) from the station. By car it is reachable from central London via the A4/M4 corridor; there is visitor parking at the park.

• Take the Piccadilly line to Osterley tube station and walk in from there to avoid the congestion of car parking on busy weekends; weekday mornings are noticeably quieter.
• Allow time to visit both the house and the surrounding park: many visitors focus on the interiors and miss the formal gardens and riverside walks, which are often much less crowded.
• If you want quieter house rooms and staff-led interpretation, aim for the first house entry of the day rather than later afternoon when visitor numbers peak.
