How to Get to Orosí Volcano #
Orosí Volcano sits in northern Guanacaste Province; the nearest major city is Liberia. The summit area is best reached by car from Liberia (roughly 40 km by road from the city center, depending on exact start point) via regional roads heading north/west; expect smaller, sometimes unpaved mountain roads near the volcano and a 4x4 or high-clearance vehicle can be helpful. There is no regular public rail service to the volcano - local buses reach nearby towns but you will generally need a taxi or private vehicle for the final approach and for flexibility on minor roads.
