How to Get to Oberwesel
Oberwesel sits on the left bank of the Rhine and is accessible by regional train from Mainz, Koblenz and Frankfurt. The town has a railway station (Oberwesel Bahnhof) on the Rhein line and good regional bus links for nearby villages.
Frankfurt Airport (FRA): Frankfurt is the nearest major international airport with excellent rail links. From FRA take a regional train or S-Bahn to Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof (15-20 minutes) then an RE/RB service toward Koblenz/Neuwied and change as needed for Oberwesel; total rail travel time is typically about 1-1.5 hours. Regional fares vary by ticket type; point-to-point regional tickets are commonly in the €15-25 range.
Cologne/Bonn Airport (CGN): Cologne/Bonn can also be used; take the S-Bahn or regional train to Cologne Hbf then an RE toward Koblenz and Oberwesel-total travel time is around 1.5-2 hours depending on connections and fares are comparable to Frankfurt-origin regional journeys.
