Nai Harn Beach is a sandy bay on the southern end of Phuket, Thailand, known for clear water and a sheltered swimming area. The beach sits beside a small village and a lagoon that separates the sand from inland hills.
The shoreline forms a curved bay with a sand strip used for swimming and sunbathing; local businesses and restaurants line the nearby roads. Reef and rock formations at the bay edges affect surf and swimming conditions depending on tides.
Historically the area developed from a small fishing community into a popular local beach while retaining a quieter character compared with Phuket’s busier resorts. Development has focused on small-scale hotels, eateries, and beach facilities.
Geographically the beach is near the southern tip of Phuket island, a drive south from Phuket Town and the island’s main tourist corridors. It is accessible by road from other Phuket beaches and towns.
- Photography tip: Best light for photography is early morning and late afternoon when the beach is less crowded and the water color is most vivid.
