How to Get to Muzayri‘#
Smaller towns in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi are primarily reached by road from Abu Dhabi International (AUH) or Al Ain (AAN). Taxis and rental cars are the most practical options; bus services exist for many routes but frequencies can be limited.
Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH): Abu Dhabi’s AUH is the main international airport serving the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, including smaller settlements in the emirate. From AUH you can reach towns in the Emirate (including settlements in Abu Dhabi’s western/central regions) by taxi or rental car; travel times vary widely depending on the destination (from ~40 minutes to several hours). Taxis from AUH start with a meter fare plus airport surcharge - expect higher fares for longer inter-emirate journeys.
Al Ain International Airport (AAN): For eastern Abu Dhabi destinations near Al Ain, AAN is an option for some regional flights; onward travel is typically by taxi or rental car. Distances and times depend on the exact town and road routing.
Train: The UAE’s passenger rail network (Etihad Rail) is developing but currently long-distance passenger services are limited; there is no conventional passenger rail stop at small towns in Abu Dhabi Emirate.
Bus: Abu Dhabi Department of Transport and regional operators run intercity and local bus services connecting Abu Dhabi city and suburban/remote communities. Buses are affordable and air-conditioned; timetables and routes vary so check local schedules for services that call near your destination.
How to Get Around Muzayri‘#
Road transport dominates in Abu Dhabi Emirate: taxis and rental cars give the most flexible access from Abu Dhabi International Airport, while buses provide a low-cost but sometimes indirect alternative for many routes.
- Intercity buses (AED 5-30) - The Department of Transport and private carriers operate intercity bus routes between Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and regional towns. Buses are cheap and air-conditioned but may not serve every small settlement directly - you may need a taxi for the final leg.
- Taxi / Private car (varies (meter + airport surcharge)) - Taxis and private hires are the most convenient way to reach smaller communities from AUH or Abu Dhabi city. They offer door-to-door service and are widely available at the airport; fares are metered or agreed in advance for long trips.
- Car rental (AED 100+/day) - Renting a car is practical for exploring the emirate at your own pace, particularly if visiting rural areas. Roads are generally excellent and distances between settlements can be large - plan fuel and rest stops accordingly.
- Local buses / Shuttle (AED 2-6) - Within larger towns and Abu Dhabi city, local bus services and shuttle options operate for commuters and residents. Check the local authority websites for routes and schedules; they are economical but less flexible than taxis.
- Walking - Many small settlements have compact centres easy to explore on foot, but distances between sites can make walking impractical for inter-town travel. Use walking for short local errands and sightseeing within town centres.
