Musée national de la Marine de Paris is France’s national maritime museum with galleries devoted to naval history, ship models and maritime art. The museum’s Paris branch is housed at the Palais de Chaillot in the Trocadéro area.

The national maritime collections grew from royal and state collections of naval models and instruments and were institutionalized over the 19th and 20th centuries as a national museum dedicated to France’s maritime heritage. The Palais de Chaillot location has served as a principal exhibition site for the museum in Paris.

The museum is located at the Trocadéro plaza on the Right Bank of the Seine, directly across from the Eiffel Tower, in central Paris’s 16th arrondissement.

From elsewhere in Paris take metro line 6 or 9 to Trocadéro for the most direct access.
