How to Get to Mount Iraya #
Mount Iraya is on Batan Island in Batanes, northern Philippines. The usual way to reach Batan Island is by air: commercial flights operate from Manila to Basco (Basco Airport), Batanes’ main town. From Basco you can hire a local vehicle or join a guided transfer to trailheads on the island; local roads connect Basco with nearby villages and trailheads for Mount Iraya.
Because Batanes is small, road transfers from Basco to mount trailheads are short; hiking to the summit is done on foot from local trailheads and local guides are commonly used for safe navigation.
Best Time to Visit Mount Iraya #
Best visited during the dry season (November-April) when trails and travel are most reliable; the wet/typhoon season brings heavy rain and disruption.
