Mount Arayat National Park is a protected area in Central Luzon, Philippines, centered on the solitary volcanic cone of Mount Arayat, which rises to more than 1,000 meters above the surrounding plain. The park protects the mountain and adjacent forested slopes and grasslands.
Hiking trails lead up the mountain and to several vantage points that overlook the Pampanga plain; routes are used for day hikes, birdwatching, and local recreation. The terrain combines grassy slopes, secondary forest and rocky outcrops, and the summit offers panoramic views across the province.
The mountain has long cultural significance in Kapampangan folklore and local tradition. The area was set aside for protection during the 20th century and is managed as a national park to conserve its natural and cultural values.
The park sits in Pampanga province, near the municipality of Arayat and other nearby towns; it is located on the central plains of Luzon, roughly north of Metro Manila.
- Best time to visit: Dry-season months offer the easiest and safest hiking conditions; tracks can be slippery in the wet season.
- Summit views: Summit viewpoints look out across the flat Pampanga plain and, on clear days, toward other central Luzon peaks.
