How to Get to Mithymna#
Mithymna (Molyvos) on Lesbos is reached mainly via Mytilene airport or ferry to Mytilene followed by a one‑hour bus or taxi. On the island, buses are sparse so plan connections or use a taxi for greater flexibility.
Mytilene International Airport (MJT): The island’s main airport is Mytilene (on Lesbos). Flights from Athens take about 50-60 minutes. From Mytilene airport you continue by road to Mithymna/Molyvos-journey time is approximately 45-75 minutes by taxi or bus.
Mainland airports (Athens, Thessaloniki): If arriving on the mainland, take a ferry to Mytilene (from Piraeus or Kavala) and then local transport to Mithymna; ferries from Piraeus take several hours (overnight or ~8-12 hours depending on service).
