How to Get to Massarelos
Massarelos is a riverside parish in central Porto easily reached from Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport (OPO) via metro or from Porto's main rail stations (Campanhã/São Bento) using short metro, bus or tram connections. The area is compact and well served by public transit.
Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport (OPO): Porto’s main international airport. From OPO take the metro (Line E, purple) to Trindade station, then walk or take a short bus/taxi to Massarelos in central Porto; total journey ~25-40 minutes. A single metro ticket from the airport to Trindade costs about €2-€3.
Porto’s smaller heliports/private fields: Not relevant for general passenger arrivals to Massarelos.
Train: Porto’s main stations are Campanhã and São Bento; both are within reach of Massarelos by metro, bus or a 20-30 minute walk (São Bento is closer to the historic centre). From Campanhã take the metro to Trindade or Baixa and continue to Massarelos. Train fares to Porto vary by origin and service.
Bus/Tram: STCP buses and the historic tram lines run along parts of the riverfront and serve the Massarelos area; single fares are usually €2-€3 when purchased on board or via Viva Viagem/Viva Ticket systems.
