Clérigos Church (Igreja dos Clérigos) is a Baroque church in central Porto designed by the Italian-born architect Nicolau Nasoni in the 18th century and is best known for its tall freestanding tower. The complex is a landmark of Porto’s historic centre and a popular viewpoint.

The principal attraction is the multi-storey tower, which rises prominently above surrounding streets and can be climbed for panoramic views over Porto and the Douro River. The church interior contains Baroque altarpieces and decorative scheme typical of 18th-century ecclesiastical design.

Construction of the church and tower took place during the 18th century under Nasoni’s direction, and the tower has since become an iconic symbol of Porto’s cityscape.

The Clérigos complex stands in the historical centre of Porto, within walking distance of the Ribeira and other central districts.

• Enter via the church side on Rua de São Filipe de Nery to follow the museum and tower route in order; many visitors rush the tower and miss the small museum and the church's interior details.
