How to Get to Manouba
Manouba is a suburb of Tunis and is most easily reached via Tunis-Carthage International Airport (TUN) or by rail/bus through central Tunis (Gare de Tunis). From Tunis, local buses, light rail and short taxi rides connect quickly to the Manouba area.
Tunis-Carthage International Airport (TUN): The main airport serving the Tunis metropolitan area. Taxi to Manouba takes about 20-30 minutes and costs roughly 15-25 TND; a shared airport shuttle or private transfer will be similar or slightly higher. There is no regular scheduled train from the airport to Manouba; combine airport buses/taxis with local buses or metro to reach central Manouba.
Sidi Ahmed (regional/charter): Smaller airstrips in the region handle charter and seasonal flights only; services are irregular and usually require a private transfer into Tunis first (price and time depend on operator).
Train: The national rail operator SNCFT runs services to and from Tunis main station (Gare de Tunis). Manouba itself is served by local bus and light-rail links from Tunis rather than a frequent long-distance rail connection; from Gare de Tunis expect a 15-30 minute onward journey by local bus or taxi to reach central Manouba.
Bus: Local CTN / Transtu buses and private minibuses connect Tunis city centre with Manouba. Typical local bus journeys between Tunis central and Manouba take about 15-25 minutes and cost under 1 TND for a single trip; taxis are faster (15-30 minutes) and cost in the 15-25 TND range.
How to Get Around Manouba #
Manouba is fairly compact around the university and town centre, so short trips are often done on foot. For travel beyond the city, shared taxis (louages), local buses and private taxis connect Manouba with greater Tunis and neighbouring suburbs. If you plan to explore the region rather than just the centre, a car or taxi is more convenient. Expect limited scheduled public-transport frequency compared with Tunis proper; check connections in advance for early mornings or evenings.
